age of elegance

Elegance is innate. It has nothing to do with being well dressed. Elegance is refusal.

Elegance does not consist in putting on a new dress.

Elegance is not a dispensable luxury but a factor that decides between success and failure.

Elegance is not the prerogative of those who have just escaped from adolescence, but of those who have already taken possession of their future.

For me, elegance is not to pass unnoticed but to get the very soul of what one is.

  2. Hey,

can you confirm the origin of the "Elegance is not a dispensable luxury..." quote? I believe it to be a programming quote by Edsger Dijkstra. I came across another blog (http://ohbabyitsnatalie.tumblr.com/post/7768670290/elegance-is-not-a-dispensable-luxury-but-a-factor) which has attributed the quote to Coco Chanel, possibly as a result of your post?

    cheers,
    Tom
