I Can't Afford to Buy Cheap

Sounds negative and kind of pretentious at first, But it's my new motto. And it could be yours too, especially, if you are a "fashionista" on a budget - like me. ;)
Say it a few times. Sounds like a play on words right? Roll it around in your mind...suddenly it will hit you.
It finally hit me! Here's how I came to the conclusion.

Every month Vogue comes out. We all want to indulge in the fabulous fashion it has to offer. And by that I mean a shopping spree month to month to stay current with the trends. Right...?
Fade in to the "quick fashion" and in no time you see that fabulous Versace look alike selling out at 2 for $50. These "designer looks" are hard to resist, but take it from a girl on a budget - Invest in some real deal pieces and you will thank yourself over and over again later on!

I used to get caught up in the frenzy - grab as much as you can for $200 bucks only to do it again the next month. One wash and your closet is dunzo! These items are not made to stand the test of time and for the most part are disposable. And that my fine feathered friends gets expensive!
One really well designed pair of pants, possibly even tailored to fit you perfectly are well worth the investment. You don't have to spend all your cashola on one Chanel scarf - but definitely try and stick with stores are known for great fabrics and well stitched garments.

"Pay twice as much and buy half as many".

You will find yourself buying pieces that will be a staple in your closet and only get better with age!
A new rule in my book is 'quality over quantity'.
If you make the switch you won't be disappointed in the life of your closet. You'll have reliable outfits that make you feel like a million bucks every time you slip them on!
